MDM Engineer (1-month contract)

On behalf of MySense, GT is looking for an MDM Migration Engineer / Endpoint Management Specialist interested in owning a short-term MDM project, helping MySense bring its internal device management in-house and establish the right cross-platform MDM/UEM setup for its needs.

**Expected involvement: approximately 1 month full-time, or potentially part-time over a longer period

Its technology helps people remain independent at home by combining sensors, wearables, and wellbeing analytics to identify changes in daily behaviour and support earlier intervention. MySense works with families as well as health and social care organisations, including NHS Trusts and local authorities.

ABOUT THE ROLE & PROJECT

MySense is looking for an experienced MDM / Endpoint Management Engineer to take ownership of a short-term project as the company brings endpoint management in-house.

MySense currently uses an externally managed Microsoft Intune environment across a mixed estate of macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices, with a strong macOS footprint. The first part of the project will be to assess the current setup and requirements, evaluate suitable MDM/UEM platforms, and recommend the best-fit solution for the company.

From there, you’ll design and configure the new environment, including device enrollment, security, and compliance processes. A key focus will be creating a fully remote and reliable enrollment approach for the existing device estate, while setting up zero-touch enrollment for new devices through solutions such as Apple Business Manager.

You’ll also coordinate with the current IT provider during the transition, test and document the setup, and hand over a clear, manageable process to the internal MySense team.

With around 20 employees, this is a focused project where you’ll have significant ownership and the opportunity to shape the solution from platform selection through to final handover.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess the current Intune environment and MySense’s endpoint management requirements.
• Help evaluate and select the most suitable MDM/UEM platform for a mixed-device environment.
• Design the transition from the current externally managed setup to an internally managed environment.
• Coordinate with the existing IT/MSP provider to support offboarding and device release from the current environment.
• Configure the selected MDM/UEM platform.
• Design and configure device enrollment and management across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
• Set up and configure Apple Business Manager and zero-touch enrollment for new Apple devices.
• Support equivalent automated enrollment processes for Windows and Android where appropriate.
• Define a practical remote enrollment approach for the existing device estate, minimizing disruption and avoiding unnecessary re-imaging.
• Configure baseline security, compliance, device policies, profiles, and access requirements.
• Integrate endpoint management with identity systems such as Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD where required.
• Test the setup and troubleshoot issues during rollout.
• Produce clear technical documentation and handover materials.
• Guide the internal team through the process so they can manage the environment independently after project completion.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Deep hands-on experience with MDM/UEM and endpoint management environments.
• Strong practical experience managing macOS and Apple devices in a business environment.
• Hands-on experience with Apple Business Manager and automated / zero-touch enrollment.
• Experience managing a heterogeneous device estate, including macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
• Strong understanding of device enrollment and re-enrollment processes, including differences between managing existing devices and provisioning new devices.
• Strong practical experience with one or more major MDM/UEM platforms, such as:
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Jamf
  • Kandji
  • Workspace ONE
  • MobileIron
  • Mosyle
  • or similar
• Experience configuring device enrollment, policies, profiles, security, and compliance rules.
• Ability to design and implement endpoint management processes fully remotely, without requiring physical access to employee devices.
• Ability to independently assess requirements, recommend an appropriate solution, configure and test it, and provide clear documentation and handover.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and an understanding of the common risks and pitfalls involved in MDM implementations and migrations.
• Advanced English and strong stakeholder communication skills.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Previous hands-on experience completing an MDM/UEM migration from one platform or provider to another.
• Experience working with external IT/MSP providers during migrations or offboarding.
• Microsoft Intune experience, particularly as a source environment.
• Experience evaluating and comparing different MDM/UEM platforms.
• Experience with Windows Autopilot and Android Enterprise.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID / Azure AD environments.
• Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting for endpoint management or automation.
• Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or education.
• Knowledge of certificate management, PKI, or network access control.
