What you'll do

  • Assess enterprise data domains and prioritise MDM use cases based on business value, risk, feasibility, data quality and implementation complexity.
  • Define MDM operating models, including governance structures, stewardship roles, decision rights, escalation routes, data standards and ongoing service management.
  • Evaluate tooling options and produce balanced recommendations covering capability fit, architecture, security, cost, licensing, implementation effort, operational complexity and future scalability.
  • Assess data quality across source systems and defining practical remediation approaches, including profiling, rule definition, issue management and ownership.
  • Map dependencies across technology, process, people, governance, security, data architecture, integration and reporting layers.
  • Create pragmatic implementation roadmaps, including sequencing, phases, work packages, dependencies, risks, assumptions, costs and benefits.
  • Facilitate workshops, engage with senior stakeholders, perform structured analysis, and produce clear written communication and concise, high-quality client deliverables.
  • Work in secure or regulated environments and understand the importance of information governance, data protection, access control and auditability.

What they require

  • 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing and optimising Master Data Management solutions.
  • Strong experience delivering MDM solutions in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Purview, including data catalogue, lineage, classification, data governance and information protection capabilities.
  • Eligibility for UK security clearance.
  • Microsoft SC-400 certification, or demonstrable equivalent experience aligned to Microsoft Purview information protection, data loss prevention and information governance.
  • The current Microsoft certification aligned to SC-400 is Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate, which covers planning and implementing information security for sensitive data using Microsoft Purview and related services.
  • Consulting experience, including stakeholder engagement, discovery workshops, current-state assessment, option appraisal, roadmap development and production of client-facing deliverables.
  • This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance.
  • As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK.
