What you'll do

  • Portfolio Positioning & Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and own go-to-market strategies for each title, including audience targeting, positioning, messaging, pricing, and channel prioritization.
  • Build audience understanding: Identify target demographics, engagement, motivations, and effective reach channels.
  • Evaluate and choose optimal channels, placements, and tactics per title, balancing investment vs. expected return.
  • Collaborate with Editorial and Product Development early in lifecycle for marketing input.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and category dynamics in Catholic publishing.
  • Campaign Development & Execution: Translate strategy into integrated campaigns via email, social, paid ads, organic, retail.
  • Write compelling copy: emails, website, ad creative, social; give creative direction to Marketing Producer.
  • Manage and optimize paid ad campaigns on Meta and Amazon.
  • Oversee schedules, identify risk, make decisions to maximize results.
  • Review and approve assets: copy, video, photography.
  • Lead product launches end-to-end, coordinating internal teams and author PR/marketing plans.
  • Amazon & Channel Strategy: Own Amazon marketing; listing optimization, search visibility, ads, promos, performance.
  • Identify additional distribution channels (DTC, wholesale, reseller partners) with Operations support.
  • Coordinate with Operations for inventory, timing, alignment.
  • Data, Analytics & Performance: Define success metrics per campaign and title; hold team accountable.
  • Analyze campaign performance, consumer data, channel outcomes to optimize.
  • Interpret web traffic, ad platforms, Amazon, e-commerce data into insight.
  • Design/analyze customer surveys for positioning inputs.
  • Report results and recommendations to leadership.
  • Team Direction & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing Producer for alignment.
  • Manage marketing contractors: assign duties, set expectations, review.
  • Work across Editorial, Product Dev, PR/Comms, Operations, Tech for cohesive execution.
  • Budget stewardship to maximize return.
  • Author & Creator Collaboration: Serve as primary author contact, set expectations for marketing roles.
  • Lead marketing kickoffs, sharing plan and timelines.
  • Collaborate with authors and creators on assets authentic to their voice.
