What you'll do

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the software development teams, including setting clear goals, defining roles and responsibilities, and establishing a collaborative and motivating work environment.
  • Work with stakeholders to mentor the team to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure timely and successful delivery of software projects.
  • Offer technical guidance and expertise to the development team; support architectural design, coding standards, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Foster the professional growth and development of team members through mentoring, coaching, and guidance.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration and communication within the software development team and with other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team follows best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing strategies, and quality assurance processes.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges; develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including product owners and business leaders, to understand needs and provide project updates.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement; collect data and analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff.
  • Develop and maintain staff by applying necessary training and leadership to allow internal growth and advancement.
  • Direct staff to ensure duties are performed according to department performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems Business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Seven (7) years experience in a software development role or developer subject matter expert role.
  • Three (3) years of Resource Management required.
  • Five (5) years in a senior or subject matter expect position.
  • This role is currently not eligible for sponsorship.
