What you'll do

  • Provide on-site technical direction, hands on service and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning and maintenance to customer owned utility and industrial facilities.
  • Prepare job planning documents that define in the scope of outage to be performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions;
  • Direct and coordinate crews, oversee contractors, support repair engineers and repair wind turbine generators throughout the United States on customer owned utility and industrial facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment such as power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors and generators.
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets.

What they require

  • Appropriately qualified Electrical Fitter with proven HV experience or Electrical Technician / Technologist or Electrician with proven HV experience
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 100% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to climb towers 300+ feet; ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs; ability to meet specific OSHA weight limits of 250 to 300lbs maximum
  • Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver's license; ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings; ability to read, interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
