What you'll do

  • Translate and transcreate content between English and Finnish while preserving cultural nuance, clinical accuracy, and brand voice.
  • Edit and refine language content for accuracy, tone, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
  • Apply current language standards, usage trends, and industry-specific terminology (such as EU MDR standards) to all deliverables.
  • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve language model quality.
  • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize content specifically for the Finnish-speaking market.
  • Support content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and web applications.
  • If transcreation is required, creatively adapt text beyond the source to ensure it reads naturally and persuasively in Finnish.

What they require

  • Native or fluent in Finnish (reading and writing).
  • University Degree in Linguistics / Translation, or a medical/scientific certification.
  • Demonstrable experience in translation, localization, and transcreation with details of projects/clients relevant to audiology (hearing aids, audiometry, EU MDR terminology) and/or medical-adjacent B2C marketing.
  • Can dedicate a minimum of 5 hours to translation tasks per week.
  • A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
  • Ability to follow terminology glossaries, brand voice parameters, and reference materials precisely in the online platform.
