What you'll do

  • Reviewing, editing, and auditing legal opinions and other caselaw content generated through AI-assisted processes.
  • Applying established Legal Editing Guidelines to quickly and accurately identify legal issues and determine the precedential impact to cases and statutes cited within opinion to ensure legal accuracy and proper analysis of legal precedent.
  • Evaluating the relationship between citing and cited authorities, determining precedential impact, and applying appropriate history and treatment letters and phrases.
  • Analyzing legal documents to identify key issues and determine precedential relationships between cases and statutes.
  • Applying approved history and treatment letters and phrases in accordance with Legal Editing Guidelines.
  • Reviewing history and treatment lettering against source material to ensure accuracy of legal issues and outcomes.
  • Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or misinterpretations in output and correcting as needed.
  • Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all editorial work.
  • Meeting production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Verifying history chains and treatment relationships using designated tools and workflows.
  • Resolving complex editorial and legal analysis questions.
  • Identifying guideline ambiguities or workflow improvements and raising them through appropriate channels.
  • Performing additional editorial or administrative tasks as assigned.

What they require

  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work within defined timelines.
  • JD, LLB, or LLM degree
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legal precedent and editorial guidelines
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and escalation when appropriate
  • Excellent reading comprehension and issue-spotting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving workflows, including AI-assisted processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
