About the role

At Samsara, we hire people who are passionate about building for the long term. As a lead technical recruiter, you will help scale our R&D organization with intention, speed, and high standards, focusing primarily on product management and expanding into adjacent technical disciplines as business needs evolve.

We prioritize outcomes, clarity, and quality. In this role, you will lead high-complexity searches, partner directly with senior leadership, and focus on delivering an exceptional experience for candidates and hiring teams. Success means building strong talent pipelines, hiring three to four exceptional people per quarter, and serving as a trusted advisor across the organization.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

In this role, you will:

• Execute full-cycle recruiting: Lead the end-to-end hiring process for R&D individual contributors and leadership roles across product management and related technical disciplines
• Act as a strategic partner: Work closely with VP and executive-level stakeholders to understand business needs and shape hiring strategies
• Drive proactive talent strategy: Build strong candidate pipelines through market mapping and long-term engagement programs
• Employ creative sourcing: Map talent networks and use direct outreach to engage top-tier candidates
• Build scalable systems: Create reusable playbooks and processes that improve hiring quality and efficiency across future searches
• Lead with data: Use talent data and pipeline analytics to inform search strategies and guide decision-making with senior leaders
• Collaborate as one team: Foster a supportive, team-first recruiting culture focused on shared goals and constructive feedback
• Champion innovation: Drive adoption of AI-based tools and modern recruiting technology across the team to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including ownership of specialized roles with complex candidate profiles
• Proven track record of hiring for technical roles, such as product managers, software engineers, and product designers
• Demonstrated experience running searches with VP and executive-level stakeholders
• A strategic partner mindset with experience using data to guide hiring decisions
• Experience building outbound sourcing strategies in competitive talent markets
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguous hiring scenarios while keeping a focus on long-term quality
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience building scalable recruiting processes or reusable playbooks
• Experience using AI-based tools and modern recruiting technology to streamline candidate sourcing and workflow

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions. $123,250—$159,500 CAD
