Responsibilities
- Examine broking activities to determine where intelligent automation can deliver the greatest operational benefit
- Create, engineer, and launch resilient AI platforms designed to handle intricate insurance business processes
- Deliver AI-driven solutions that combine LLMs, RAG techniques, document understanding, data extraction, categorization, and multi-agent designs
- Engage with brokerage, underwriting, and operations specialists to convert operational pain points into practical, scalable AI products
- Manage the complete development path for AI offerings, starting with discovery and prototypes and continuing through release, measurement, and enhancement
- Create rigorous methods for assessing AI quality, incorporating validation, system metrics, production visibility, and detection of inaccurate model outputs
- Encourage an innovation-focused culture through rapid trials of new AI technologies, engineering approaches, and tooling
- Introduce automation capabilities that improve throughput, accelerate service delivery, and strengthen organizational effectiveness
- Coach engineering colleagues while establishing sound practices for creating stable and trustworthy AI applications
- Evaluate developing AI advancements and use suitable technologies to address insurance-specific business needs
Requirements
- 5 or more years of industry experience in software development, AI, machine learning, or another relevant technology area
- A minimum of one year spent supervising or coordinating software engineering teams
- Advanced Python and TypeScript skills for building, extending, and supporting AI-based software products
- Demonstrated ability to bring AI initiatives from early exploration and proof of value through to live production use
- Hands-on understanding of machine learning approaches, predictive models, and Large Language Model technologies
- Knowledge of contemporary delivery processes, including CI/CD automation and deploying workloads through containers
- Strong critical-thinking and diagnostic abilities to tackle demanding business and engineering issues
- Confidence in communicating complex technical subjects in an accessible manner to business partners
- Professional written and spoken English skills at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Background in reinsurance or underwriting operations, with an understanding of the associated business procedures
- Awareness of insurance domain practices, platforms, operational models, and compliance requirements
- Experience defining secure, repeatable infrastructure environments through Infrastructure as Code methods
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools used to assess system health, responsiveness, reliability, and production behavior
- Experience providing technical direction, influencing architectural choices, and helping delivery teams achieve strong engineering outcomes
