We are looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations at PartnerOne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build hands-on experience in a growing organization.
The Junior Staff Accountant will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Management
Record and maintain routine accounting transactions. Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries. Perform assigned bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations. Identify discrepancies and work with senior team members to resolve them. Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation.
Accounts Payable
Process vendor invoices and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained. Assist with preparing vendor payments. Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation. Respond to routine vendor inquiries and assist with resolving invoice discrepancies.
Month-End Close and Financial Reporting
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. Prepare basic account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Assist the accounting team with financial reporting and data requests. Help ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Audit Support
Gather and organize documentation requested for internal and external audits. Assist with interim and annual audit activities as required.
Compliance and Internal Controls
Follow company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Maintain complete and accurate accounting records. Develop an understanding of applicable accounting standards and company processes.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in accounting and finance projects as needed. Cross-train with other members of the finance team. Provide general accounting and administrative support to the team. Take on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience develop.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 0 to 2 years of accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or related experience. Relevant internships or co-op experience will be considered. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Familiarity with accounting or ERP software is an asset. Experience with Sage Intacct, Ramp, HubSpot, or similar systems is considered an asset but is not required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Benefits
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $65,000 CAD annually . Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
