Investment Banking Associate – M&A, Financial Modeling & Valuation Full-Time | Remote | U.S. Business Hours About the Role At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an Investment Banking Associate to support live M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions . This is a hands-on deal execution role for someone with strong experience in financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and transaction materials . You’ll work closely with analysts, senior bankers, clients, lawyers, accountants, and advisors to ensure transactions move forward accurately and on schedule. What You’ll Own Financial Modeling & Valuation Build and maintain detailed DCF, LBO, and merger models Conduct comparable company and precedent transaction analyses Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis Evaluate financial assumptions and transaction structures Update models using client financials and evolving deal assumptions M&A & Transaction Execution Support buy-side, sell-side, capital raising, and strategic advisory engagements Manage due diligence checklists and transaction timelines Coordinate virtual data rooms and information requests Work with clients, accountants, lawyers, consultants, and other advisors Ensure transaction deliverables remain accurate and on schedule Pitch Books & Client Materials Draft and refine: Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) Pitch books Teasers Management presentations Investor decks Translate complex financial analysis into polished, client-ready materials Maintain exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Research & Analysis Conduct industry, company, and market research Identify relevant trends, risks, and opportunities Prepare briefing notes and strategic insights Incorporate research findings into valuation assumptions and transaction materials Analyst Review & Senior Banker Support Review analyst work for accuracy, consistency, and presentation quality Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members Prepare VPs and Managing Directors for client meetings Support senior bankers with models, transaction updates, and financial insights Compliance & Documentation Maintain confidentiality across sensitive transaction information Ensure deliverables follow internal controls and applicable requirements Maintain organized, audit-ready versions of financial models and transaction materials Requirements 2–4 years of experience in: Investment Banking Corporate Finance Private Equity Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modeling capabilities Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills Strong understanding of: DCF valuation LBO modeling Comparable company analysis Precedent transaction analysis Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or PitchBook Strong analytical and quantitative skills Exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple live transactions and tight deadlines Strong written and verbal English communication Nice to Have MBA, CFA, or CPA VBA/macros experience Experience across both buy-side and sell-side M&A Capital raising experience Exposure to industries such as: Technology Healthcare Real Estate Financial Services Previous experience mentoring or reviewing analyst work What Success Looks Like Highly accurate financial models and valuation analyses Pitch books, CIMs, and investor materials delivered on time Smooth management of due diligence and transaction workstreams Strong quality control across analyst deliverables Positive feedback from clients and senior bankers Multiple live transactions managed effectively without sacrificing accuracy What a Typical Day Looks Like You may start by updating a valuation model with new client financials, then review analyst work before preparing materials for an upcoming client meeting. Throughout the day, you’ll coordinate due diligence requests, update data rooms, conduct market research, refine a CIM or pitch book, and communicate with advisors and client stakeholders.
