Currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Design Engineer – Interior (Soft Trim) will be responsible for the comprehensive development of vehicle interior components. The role requires technical expertise, deliverable management, interaction with suppliers, and proficiency in PLM/CAD tools. 📍 Location: Saltillo, Coah., México 🕒 Experience Level: 1+ years 🌐 English: B2–C1 Key Responsibilities Synthesize program requirements (financial, weight, complexity) aligned with the thematic style. Evaluate advanced topics and escalate incompatibilities. Define part breakdown and assembly sequence. Develop source packages (PBOM, eBOM, technical sheets, DVP&R). Support technical reviews and supplier evaluations. Oversee master section development and 3D releases. Manage design practice analysis and critical issue resolution. Maintain issue logs and present them weekly. Conduct manufacturing and assembly feasibility studies. Create technical sheets and DVP&R for new components. Requirements Must‑Have Qualifications 1+ years of experience in automotive interior design or development. General knowledge of the following components: carpets, mats, load floor or cargo floor. Experience needed in soft plastics: rubber, foams, vinyl, elastomers, EPP, etc. / Fabrics: non woven fabrics, acoustic materials, insulators. Proven experience as a DRE, DRE support, or Product Engineer. Proficiency in CAD tools: CATIA and/or 3DX (3DExperience). Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, variation analysis, and parametric design. Experience with manufacturing processes, feasibility, interfaces, and validations. Knowledge of DFMEA, DVPR , and technical development documentation. Knowledge of DFMEA/DFA , injection molding, and tooling processes. Experience with PLM systems , BOM management, and engineering release processes. English level B2–C1 . Preferred Skills Experience on commodities like headliner, seats or NVH can be valuable as well . Knowledge of CAE , basic stress analysis, or mechanical validations. Knowledge of DFA/DFS , packaging, static/dynamic clearances, and craftsmanship. Previous participation in vehicle launches or global programs. Experience with RFQs, costs, and sourcing/supplier support. Soft Skills Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration. Technical leadership and decision‑making capability.
