What you'll do

  • Maintain, update and, as required, re-baseline the Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the federal government.
  • Apply project management principles to manage, monitor, update, integrate and improve the IMS, incorporating major program milestones. Aggressively manage IMS critical path and near critical path in close coordination with government stakeholders.
  • Perform program schedule analysis, including assessing critical path, near critical path, bottlenecks, inter-dependencies, float, slack and schedule variance to ensure project timelines are met, making recommendations for improvement to government personnel.
  • Use schedule data to maintain and propose schedule metrics in PowerBI generated management dashboards, executive level briefings and reports.
  • Maintain risk and bottleneck repository.
  • Maintain IMS, ensuring it reflects all key milestones and deliverables, and accurately tracks progress against planned schedules.
  • Monitor vendor schedule performance, analyzing weekly and monthly variances to ensure adherence to project timelines and address discrepancies.
  • Utilize project management techniques such as Gantt charts, PERT charts, milestone charts, and earned value management to gauge project progress and identify performance variances.
  • Assess overall health of IMS in accordance with government best practices, providing recommendations for improvement as possible.
  • Lead and manage Schedule Integrated Product Team (IPT) and participate in affiliated IPTS and governance forums.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in scheduling, providing mentorship and guidance to government officials on PM scheduling best practices and techniques.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with enterprise-level project scheduling software, leveraging its features to enhance schedule management and integration.
  • Propose and implement processes to improve integrated scheduling and enhance overall project management efficiency.

What they require

  • At least eight (8) years of experience with federal government acquisitions integrated project planning.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex projects.
  • Skilled in performing program schedule analysis, including evaluating metrics, critical path, float, and schedule variance.
  • Experience in building and maintaining a program-level IMS, monitoring vendor performance, and utilizing various project management techniques.
  • Expertise in using enterprise-level scheduling software and proposing processes to improve integrated scheduling.
  • Ability to act as a scheduling subject matter expert and mentor program staff in best practices and effective scheduling techniques.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must possess an active and current DoD Secret Clearance.
