What you'll do

  • Play a pivotal role with health systems by driving the integration of digital technologies and innovative solutions into clinical workflows, care delivery models, consumer experience strategies, and operational practices.
  • Optimize patient care, ensure seamless care delivery, elevate the consumer healthcare journey, enhance clinical processes, and improve overall healthcare outcomes.
  • Become a trusted partner to members and clients by combining clinical expertise with a deep understanding of digital health technologies.
  • Collaborate with AVIANs and health system leaders to drive value to members and clients.
  • Draw upon health system, clinical, and industry experience to manage teams/projects, generate high-quality thought-provoking insights, and develop deliverables that solve members' and clients’ biggest problems.
  • Understand processes and workflows within health systems and use this experience to create efficiencies in health systems via digital solutions and operational improvements.
  • Demonstrate experience in health services delivery domains, such as coding, revenue cycle, scheduling operations, call center, inpatient throughput, service line performance, remote patient monitoring, acute care, or ambulatory care.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of healthcare technologies and digital solutions.
  • Deliver 90%+ of engagements on time and within the original scoped budget, proactively mitigating scope creep so that fewer than 10% of projects require unbudgeted timeline extensions.
  • Achieve or exceed target project margins by optimizing resource allocation, managing project dependencies effectively, and maintaining expected billable utilization rates.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction across executive and operational health system stakeholders through clear communication, predictable delivery, and demonstrable ROI.
  • Actively contribute to AVIA's strategic growth by identifying and cultivating at least 1–2 actionable account expansion, follow-on advisory, or membership renewal opportunities per year.
  • Translate client engagements and market signals into actionable digital health insights, benchmarks, or reusable frameworks that elevate AVIA’s broader research, platform capabilities, and thought leadership network.
  • Foster a high-performing project team by mentoring junior team members, setting clear expectations, ensuring equitable work distribution, and supporting professional growth to drive team efficiency and retention.

What they require

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a health system or healthcare consulting role.
  • Skills needed to navigate the cultural and organizational complexities of the healthcare industry, members, and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build coherent narratives that drive decision-making and buy-in as clients move through their digital transformation journeys.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a variety of research activities to generate insights that inform strategic and tactical project decisions, including desk research on industry trends and best practices, voice of customer surveys, stakeholder interviews and workshops, and on-site observations and shadowing.
  • Stellar ability to break complex problems down into component parts, prioritize their value, and deliver concise, actionable insights.
  • A strong passion for creative problem solving, innovation, and the agility to adapt to rapidly changing technology and healthcare trends.
  • Ability to consistently make well-informed decisions under pressure, while continuously learning and adapting from outcomes.
  • Proven ability to foster mentoring relationships with direct reports and peers, supporting individual professional growth and maintaining high work product quality.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree with a healthcare or technology focus (e.g. MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) or relevant disciplines.
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of how AI works within workflows and at the enterprise level, capable of driving the integration of digital technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Preferred: PMP or other hands-on project management skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to define project scopes and plans, manage dependencies, balance multiple demands independently, and manage upward to mitigate risk.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated familiarity with key innovation frameworks, such as human-centered design and design thinking, to create empathetic, user-focused digital and operational solutions.
  • Preferred: LEAN Six Sigma experience, with a proven capability to drive continuous improvement, workflow efficiency, and quality across complex operational systems.
