What you'll do

  • Define and implement the vision for a world-class internal cloud
  • Set up and maintain technical design roadmap and guidelines for SREs
  • Provide roadmap, requirements, and prioritization input to cloud-ops software development teams
  • Advise IS management on technology, reliability, resilience, and business cases
  • Lead technical choices for scalable self-service infrastructure products
  • Collaborate with product security and operations security on best practices and threat mitigation
  • Automate operations for reuse across large distributed systems
  • Collaborate with development teams on service architecture, documentation, playbooks, policies, and operational procedures
  • Analyze incidents and events and identify structural improvements

What they require

  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative path
  • Track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and operation
  • Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, firewalls, internet transit, and large-scale bandwidth networking
  • Experience with significant production outages, incident response, and postmortems
  • Passion for writing, sharing, and maintaining enterprise open-source software solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English over email, chat, video, voice calls, and in person
  • Familiarity and passion for open source, especially Ubuntu or Debian
  • Willing and able to attend in-person internal company events 2–4 times per year
  • Leadership or management experience in a technical or software engineering team
  • DevOps, system administration, or site reliability engineering experience
