What you'll do

  • Localize in-game text, UI, dialogue, subtitles, and narrative content for target languages while maintaining tone, style, and context.
  • Ensure cultural relevance and sensitivity by adapting content appropriately for regional audiences.
  • Review and edit localized content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Support the maintanance of glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
  • Work with localization QA teams to identify and resolve linguistic bugs in-game.
  • Provide feedback on localization pipelines and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with language teams

What they require

  • Native-level fluency in the target language
  • ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
  • 3+ years demonstrable experience in localizing game video content.
  • In depth and practical understanding of the nuances and considerations of translating UlContent/menus, mission text, NPC ambient dialogue, locked cutscene subtitle blocks.
  • Transcreation experience specifically within the gaming sector, translating NBA-related content for video games.
  • Familiarity with game engines and localization pipelines.
  • Passion for video games, especially sports, action, or narrative-driven titles.
  • Reliable availability and commitment; most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
