What you'll do

  • Manages complex, sensitive, and escalated immigration cases with urgency and precision, serving as a primary drafting and case support resource for VIP clients while maintaining accuracy and quality under tight deadlines
  • Supports training and onboarding of paralegals and specialists through structured coaching, live guidance, and practical feedback that reinforces drafting standards and role-specific best practices
  • Maintains and improves internal knowledge resources including templates, SOPs, checklists, and FAQs, ensuring content reflects current legal and procedural requirements across assigned jurisdictions
  • Contributes subject matter expertise to the development of AI-assisted workflows and internal tools, identifying inefficiencies and translating legal requirements into scalable, repeatable processes
  • Upholds quality and risk standards by reviewing work product, flagging procedural inconsistencies and case risks, and modeling strong judgment and operational discipline across the team
  • Monitors regulatory and policy changes within assigned jurisdictions, escalating compliance concerns and converting legal updates into practical day-to-day guidance for the broader team
  • Manages complex, sensitive, and escalated immigration cases with urgency and precision, serving as a primary drafting and case support resource for clients while maintaining accuracy and quality under tight deadlines
  • Develops strategy and manages end-to-end case preparation and submission for Work Permits (open and employer-specific), Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), Global Talent Stream (GTS), Intra-Company Transfers (ICT), and Permanent Residency pathways including Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
  • Manages IRCC Employer Portal and ESDC Portal compliance, including wage tracking, attestation updates, audit preparation, and regulatory correspondence to ensure ongoing eligibility and adherence to program requirements
  • Maintains and reconciles the firm’s CICC-regulated Client Trust Account monthly - including trust ledger tracking, reconciliations, fee invoicing, and reporting - in accordance with the CICC Client Account Regulation
  • Advises TA, HR, and corporate clients on global mobility strategies, immigration timelines, program eligibility, and cost implications to support strategic workforce planning
  • Maintains and improves internal knowledge resources including templates, SOPs, checklists, and FAQs, ensuring content reflects current legal, procedural, and regulatory requirements across federal and provincial immigration programs
  • Contributes subject matter expertise to the development of AI-assisted workflows and internal tools, identifying inefficiencies and translating regulatory requirements into scalable, repeatable processes
  • Upholds all obligations under the CICC Code of Professional Conduct, including client confidentiality, timely conflict-of-interest disclosure, and honest, accurate representations to IRCC, ESDC, and clients
  • Monitors regulatory and policy changes across IRCC, ESDC, and provincial programs, escalating compliance concerns and converting legal updates into practical day-to-day guidance for the broader team

What they require

  • Strong knowledge of the key immigration categories
  • Excellent communication and the ability to find solutions under pressure, with thoughtful people management and mentorship skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate immigration policies and processes
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technology-enabled workflows in a legal, immigration, or similarly regulated environment to support quality, efficiency, and process innovation
  • 6–8 years of experience in Canadian immigration, with demonstrated expertise in work permits, employer compliance, and permanent residency programs
  • Active RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant) credential in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)
  • In-depth knowledge of IRCC and ESDC programs, including Work Permits, LMIAs, Global Talent Stream, Intra-Company Transfers, Express Entry, and Provincial Nominee Programs
  • Strong understanding of IRCC Employer Portal and ESDC Portal functionality, employer compliance obligations, and trust account reconciliation procedures
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and communicating immigration policies, regulatory requirements, and procedural changes to internal and external stakeholders
