What you'll do

  • Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to coordinators and Clinical Supervisors/Nursing Supervisors to assist them in improving home health care services.
  • Assists Clinical Supervisors/Nursing Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning.
  • Assists in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care.
  • Assists Executive Director/Administrator in preparation and administration of the organization's budget.
  • Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and impacts to staffing, revenues or expenses.
  • Evaluates performance of Clinical Supervisors/Nursing Supervisors and conducts clinical performance evaluations.
  • Hires, evaluates, and terminates organization personnel.
  • Oversees maintenance of patient clinical records, statistics, reports and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Maintains adequate inventory supplies and equipment for patient services.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates orientation programs and continuing education/inservice programs for staff.
  • Assists with performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Assures quality and safe delivery of hospice services.
  • Develops, recommends, and administers organization policies and procedures.

What they require

  • Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing.
  • Three years of management experience within the last five years in Hospice, with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • Alternatively: four years’ RN experience within the last five years in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility with at least one year supervisory/administrative.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional administrative personnel.
  • Knowledge and expertise in clinical decision-making for the patient population and Quality Management review and evaluation for the organization.
  • Ability to market and interact with customers and the community; excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards.
  • Master’s degree in health care preferred.
