Remote call-center medical scheduler at Banner Health, US-based (Banner-approved states only). Must handle 50+ back-to-back inbound calls a day, juggle multiple scheduling systems and 8+ windows at once. 1+ year of customer service or healthcare scheduling experience required.

What you'll do

  • Answering inbound calls and scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments
  • Answering patients' questions regarding basic medical questions and procedures
  • Providing instructions to patients to ensure they are prepared for examinations and procedures, and confirming appointments
  • Obtaining patient demographics, insurance information, and documents required for authorizations and referrals
  • Providing pre and post-test instruction and appointment location/directions
  • Collecting pre-payments and verifying insurance coverage
  • Handling inbound and outbound communications for all facilities in the states in which they operate

What they require

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Minimum of 1 or more years of customer service or related experience in a healthcare setting (medical office/clinic or hospital scheduling, lab, medical transcription, medical assistant, or receptionist)
  • Ability to provide essential customer service in a high-paced inbound contact center environment
  • Ability to use technology tools to research and obtain accurate information via incoming calls, emails, and instant messaging/chat
  • Computer and typing skills; ability to work with common office software
  • Ability to manage multiple scheduling systems and navigate 8 or more windows at a time
  • Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
