The process of conducting clinical research is incredibly expensive and time consuming, limiting our efforts to find answers to the world’s most important medical challenges. uMed is a clinical research network fit for the 21st century, underpinned by cutting edge technology that connects patients, electronic health data and research groups across the world. Our rapidly growing network covers 90 GP sites in the UK representing over 2,000,000 patients with our first US healthcare system joining us this year bringing a further 5M patients. uMed was founded by an NHS doctor, supported by a world class board and backed by London and US based venture capital.

The Role

You will own the growth and strategy of uMed's entire US provider and partner network. This isn't a single-pipeline sales role, it's building the strategy, the team, and the commercial model that gets uMet to offer research opportunities to patients, at the pace uMed's growth plan requires. You'll set which segments to go after and why, build and lead the team that executes it, and be the senior, credible voice in the room with health system executives, EMR partners and payers alongside the company's physician CEO

You'll need to develop a multi-year network growth strategy with the CEO, and personally lead the highest-value, most complex partnership conversations yourself. Over time, this role builds and leads the full US partnerships function.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Own the US patient access growth strategy: which segments (independent primary care, IPAs, health systems, specialty networks, EMR partners, payers, and pharmacy networks) to prioritize in service of the company's growth plan Personally own and close the most strategic, highest-value provider and health system relationships Design the commercial model for provider partnerships, including terms, incentives, and contracting approach, working with legal and finance Build, hire, and lead a provider partnerships team as the US network scales, setting targets, process, and playbooks for the function Represent uMed's provider growth strategy and performance to the executive team and board Partner with Operations to ensure the provider experience matches what's promised to our life science customers, and feed provider insight back into product strategy Represent uMed at senior industry forums, conferences, and associations to build brand credibility and pipeline in the US market Own network growth reporting and forecasting: practices signed, patients represented, time-to-live, and network health, as a core input to company planning Be the strategic advisor to the CEO

What You'll Bring

7+ years in healthcare business development, provider/health system partnerships, with real ownership of a partnerships or network-growth function A track record of closing complex, trust-based partnerships with physicians, practice leadership, or health system executives, and 3rd party vendors (e.g. EMR systems) not just transactional sales Comfortable operating at both strategic (board/exec-level strategy) and hands-on execution (personally leading key deals) Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, and what genuinely motivates providers to partner with a company like uMed Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience shaping deal structure and contracting, not just relationship-building Executive presence: credible in front of a board, a CEO, or a health system C-suite
