We are seeking candidates for the position of Head of Payments for our client, a profitable Ukrainian product startup founded in 2023 that builds personalized Health & Fitness products for a global audience. The company operates on a B2C subscription model across the US and European markets, with a fully remote team of 50+ people.
Location: Fully remote (candidate based in Europe) Reporting to: CEO
What the Company offers:
- Opportunity to build the payments function as a newly created role, not a replacement, reporting directly to the CEO with no CFO or CPO in between
- A concrete, measurable mandate from day one: improving Acceptance Rate from its current ~85% to a 92-94% target within 6 months
- Ownership of multi-PSP infrastructure, routing, orchestration and cascading, rather than maintaining an existing setup
- Close cross-functional work with engineering, analytics, legal/compliance, and finance
- Room to grow the payments team beyond its current 3 people
- Fully remote, flexible format with core sync hours 10:00-18:00 Kyiv time

Key Responsibilities:
- Review the current payment setup and Acceptance Rate performance, identify key issues and early quick wins
- Build and scale multi-PSP infrastructure: routing, orchestration, cascading, and onboarding of new providers
- Own payment strategy metrics, including success rate, renewal rate, and recovery rate, and billing logic such as retry, dunning, and renewal flows
- Manage processing costs and PSP negotiations, owning payment margin as part of unit economics
- Monitor risk metrics, including chargeback rate and fraud, while scaling transaction volume
- Lead and grow the payments team.
Qualification criteria:
- 3+ years of core payments experience (adjacent experience is a plus, not a substitute)
- Experience in subscription businesses - B2C, mobile/web subscriptions
- Experience working with Tier-1 PSPs: Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Checkout.
- Experience with multi-PSP orchestration, routing, and cascading
- Experience with US and European markets
- Relevant experience at a scale of 3-5M+ transactions per month
- English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2+)
- Management experience is a plus but not required - strong Senior-level candidates ready to grow into a lead/head role are welcome.
