Chronicle is looking for a Head of Operations to own the day-to-day running of the business across finance, people, and compliance. This is a broad, hands-on operations role for someone comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions and employment structures, managing both fiat and crypto-native processes, and building the internal systems that let the company scale.
📋 Responsibilities include:
- Manage Swiss payroll and coordinate contractor payments through the EOR
- Own accounts payable end-to-end via fiat and stablecoins
- Own accounts receivable, issuing invoices and tracking payments
- Execute multisig crypto transactions and crypto-native accounting
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for the external Swiss accountant
- Manage vendor relationships, credit cards, and expense reimbursements
- Manage EOR relationship, onboarding, offboarding, and hiring processes end-to-end
- Plan and execute company offsites
- Review Swiss VAT and tax filings
- Maintain documentation for audits and board reporting
- Own operational compliance workflows for ISO 27001 and SOC 2
🔑 Requirements:
- 3+ years in operations or finance operations, ideally at early-stage or high-growth startup
- Experience managing AP/AR including invoicing and vendor payments
- Comfort with fiat and crypto-native payment rails, stablecoins, and multisig workflows
- Experience running payroll across multiple jurisdictions and structures (direct, EOR, contractors)
- Experience managing full-cycle hiring and core HR operations
- Comfortable preparing financial documentation for board reporting, audits, and due diligence
- Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail
- Self-directed and comfortable operating with ambiguity
🛠 Nice-to-have:
- Solid Swiss or EU operating experience
- Enough German to work with local institutions
- Experience with payroll and employment administration
- Comfortable working in a crypto or technology scale-up
- Proactive in building operational systems
