What you'll do

  • Lead organisational budgeting, forecasting, cash management, controlling and management reporting.
  • Own the financial framework for projects and restricted funds, including budgeting, cost allocation, expenditure tracking and forecasting.
  • Ensure reliable accounting, payroll, banking, tax, statutory reporting and audits with internal colleagues and external advisors.
  • Own core business administration: contracts, procurement, vendors, insurance and recurring corporate obligations; develop finance and business systems (ERP, project accounting, workflows).
  • Lead and develop a lean team across Finance, People Operations and Administration, and coordinate specialist external providers for IT, information security and data protection.

What they require

  • Significant experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or finance-led business operations (typically 8+ years).
  • Strong experience with project accounting, restricted funds, grants, or contract-funded work.
  • Experience building or substantially improving finance and operational systems in a growing organisation.
  • Experience leading people and working with accountants, auditors, banks, software providers and other professional advisors.
  • Fluent English required; Preferred: professional proficiency in German.
