No BS summary

Head of Marketing with 7–10 years of B2B marketing experience owning both brand and demand generation. Must know cybersecurity buyers and domains like software supply chain risk, SBOM, vulnerability management, and compliance. Needs hands-on pipeline accountability, product marketing, executive brand/analyst relations, events, outbound demand gen, and startup-style agency/vendor leverage.

What you'll do

  • Run marketing as a pipeline-generation engine and build Manifest's market presence.
  • Own and sharpen the existing marketing playbook and agency support model.
  • Own the full funnel, including positioning and messaging, content and slides, demand generation, social, events, analyst relations, and marketing-led outbound.
  • Write copy, build decks, run events, post on LinkedIn, direct agencies, and report marketing numbers.
  • Use agency partners and offshore help to handle execution-heavy work without building headcount.
  • Build pipeline and brand recognition across the security community, federal and enterprise buyers, analysts, and investors.
  • Own a qualified pipeline number alongside the CRO and enterprise sales team.
  • Tie every marketing program to pipeline created and influenced.
  • Report pipeline metrics on a regular cadence rather than reporting activity.
  • Own the marketing budget and be accountable for every dollar.
  • Track where marketing spend is and is not producing pipeline.
  • Cut ineffective spend and increase investment in what works.
  • Show pipeline and revenue return on marketing spend at any time.
  • Own positioning and messaging across federal, enterprise/commercial, and regulated verticals.
  • Translate technical capability into narratives for security, compliance, and engineering buyers.
  • Own product marketing end-to-end.
  • Partner with product on PR and launches for major releases.
  • Feed market and buyer signals back into product so product and sales strategy move together.
  • Write and ship web copy, one-pagers, campaigns, email, sales decks, and pitch decks.
  • Keep battlecards and competitive intelligence up to date.
  • Host internal training sessions with DSE and product to sharpen the field's win strategy.
  • Build and run a marketing-led outbound motion without a BDR team, including lists, sequences, and ABM plays.
  • Drive measurable growth in website traffic and conversion.
  • Own SEO and the website as a pipeline surface.
  • Own social presence and turn LinkedIn into a demand channel, including executive amplification.
  • Plan, coordinate, and run field and event presence, including conference selection, booth logistics, executive dinners, and webinars.
  • Manage analyst relations and category voices such as Gartner, Forrester, GigaOm, IDC, and the supply-chain-security community.
  • Grow the CEO's personal brand through speaking slots, keynotes, panels, and webinars.
  • Generate awareness and engagement across security and venture communities.
  • Keep Manifest visible to investors and press.
  • Build momentum that supports the next funding round and hiring.
  • Own and direct agency partners.
  • Add offshore help where it adds capacity.
  • Keep vendors focused on pipeline while retaining ownership of strategy, messaging, and high-precision work.

What they require

  • 7 to 10 years of B2B marketing experience, with meaningful time owning both brand and demand at the same time.
  • Experience across B2B and enterprise.
  • Ideally experience with federal and public sector marketing, with a real understanding of how government buying differs from commercial.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity and the security buyer.
  • Understanding of software supply chain, SBOM, vulnerability management, and compliance fundamentals.
  • Product marketing experience owning launches, positioning, competitive enablement, and sales enablement that changes how the field sells.
  • Ability to partner naturally with product on PR and go-to-market.
  • Experience building an executive or founder brand and analyst/press relations.
  • Experience turning a leader into a visible category voice through speaking slots, panels, moderation, and webinars.
  • Experience working with industry analysts and press to build category presence and share of voice.
  • Track record of direct accountability to a pipeline or revenue number, ideally in an early-stage or resource-constrained environment.
  • Metrics-driven rigor about marketing spend.
  • Ability to run marketing like a P&L, track spend against pipeline and cost of acquisition, and make data-based budget calls.
  • Proven ability to build outbound and demand programs that create pipeline without a large SDR or BDR team.
  • Fluency with LinkedIn and social as demand and awareness channels, with concrete examples of traffic, engagement, or pipeline driven.
  • Hands-on production skills, including writing one-pagers, building decks, editing copy, and shipping work directly.
  • Ability to get high-quality output from offshore contractors and agencies on a startup budget.
  • Ability to manage contractor and agency work without needing a team or organization.
  • Experience owning events end-to-end as a solo operator.
  • AI is part of the candidate's default workflow.
  • Ability to point to concrete AI-accelerated output and workflows built around it.
  • Good judgment about what AI-assisted work needs expert review before shipping.
  • High agency and strong bias to action.
  • Comfort owning outcomes end-to-end in an intense, fast-moving environment.
  • Preferred: Prior experience marketing to the US Air Force, DoD, or federal civilian agencies.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SBOM and AIBOM and the regulatory drivers behind them, including EO 14028, the OMB software security memos, and FDA premarket cybersecurity requirements.
