Als Head of Legal (m/f/d) übernimmst Du die fachliche und organisatorische Verantwortung für weite Teile unseres Rechtsbereichs und entlastest den General Counsel bei zentralen Aufgaben des Tagesgeschäfts. Du führst und entwickelst den Aufbau und die Strukturierung des Bereichs Legal aktiv mit, treibst neue Prozesse voran und gestaltest die Zusammenarbeit mit Geschäftsführung, Führungskräften und Fachbereichen. Du übernimmst einen Großteil der operativen und strategischen Rechtsarbeit des General Counsel und agierst als dessen enge:r Sparringspartner:in und Vertretung. Du bearbeitest gesellschaftsrechtliche Themen in ihrer ganzen Breite: Corporate Governance, Gesellschafterbeschlüsse, Beteiligungsstrukturen, Holding- und Konzernrecht, M&A-Transaktionen sowie gesellschaftsrechtliche Compliance über mehrere Rechtsordnungen hinweg. Du bist zentrale Ansprechperson für arbeitsrechtliche Themen sowie deren vertragliche und organschaftliche Umsetzung. Du entwickelst und implementierst den Einsatz von KI/AI-gestützten Arbeitsweisen im Rechtsbereich weiter und baust hierfür die notwendigen Strukturen, Tools und Prozesse auf. Du führst Vertragsverhandlungen und steuerst externe Berater, Anwaltskanzleien und Behörden eigenverantwortlich. Du unterstützt die Produktteams bei der rechtlichen Begleitung ihrer Projekte und behältst regulatorische Entwicklungen im Blick. Du berichtest direkt an den General Counsel und übernimmst bei Bedarf dessen Vertretung. Du hast zwei abgeschlossene juristische Staatsexamina, davon mindestens eines mit der Note „vollbefriedigend" oder besser, oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation. Du verfügst über mehrjährige (idealerweise 8+ Jahre) Erfahrung im Gesellschaftsrecht und angrenzenden Themen wie M&A, Corporate Governance und Beteiligungsstrukturen – erworben als Unternehmensjurist:in und/oder in einer Kanzlei; Kenntnisse im IT- und Arbeitsrecht runden Dein Profil ab. Du hast bereits eigenständig komplexe gesellschaftsrechtliche Projekte verantwortet, idealerweise in einem internationalen, wachstumsstarken oder Plattform-/E-Commerce-Umfeld. Du bringst nachweisbare Erfahrung im Einsatz von KI-Tools im Rechtsbereich mit und hast bereits selbst Strukturen, Skills oder Workflows für den produktiven KI-Einsatz in einer Rechtsabteilung aufgebaut. Du zeichnest Dich durch unternehmerisches Denken, ein gesundes Risikobewusstsein und hohe Sozialkompetenz aus. Mit Deiner Kommunikationsstärke und Deinem sympathischen Auftreten überzeugst Du auf allen Ebenen und arbeitest stets mit hoher Präzision. Führungserfahrung runden Dein Profil ab. What you'll do
- Take over technical and organizational responsibility for large parts of our legal department and relieve the General Counsel of central tasks in day-to-day business.
- Actively lead and develop the setup and structuring of the Legal department, drive new processes, and shape collaboration with management, executives, and specialist departments.
- Take over a large part of the operational and strategic legal work of the General Counsel and act as their close sparring partner and representative.
- Handle corporate law issues in their entirety: corporate governance, shareholder resolutions, investment structures, holding and group law, M&A transactions, and corporate law compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Be the central point of contact for employment law issues and their contractual and corporate implementation.
- Further develop and implement the use of AI-supported working methods in the legal department and build up the necessary structures, tools, and processes for this.
- Conduct contract negotiations and manage external consultants, law firms, and authorities independently.
- Support product teams in the legal accompaniment of their projects and keep an eye on regulatory developments.
- Report directly to the General Counsel and take over their representation if necessary.
What they require
- Two completed state legal examinations, at least one with the grade "satisfactory" ("vollbefriedigend") or better, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years (ideally 8+ years) of experience in corporate law and related topics such as M&A, corporate governance, and investment structures – acquired as an in-house counsel and/or in a law firm.
- Knowledge of IT and employment law rounds off your profile.
- Have independently managed complex corporate law projects, ideally in an international, high-growth, or platform/e-commerce environment.
- Demonstrable experience in the use of AI tools in the legal field and have already built structures, skills, or workflows for productive AI use in a legal department.
- Characterized by entrepreneurial thinking, a healthy risk awareness, and high social competence.
- Convince at all levels with your communication strength and your likeable demeanor, and always work with high precision.
- Leadership experience rounds off your profile.
- You can explain complex issues simply and concisely, and have very good English skills.
