Finance director for a UK-based full-time role leading group finance across reporting, FP&A, treasury, controllership and operations. Must be a qualified accountant with prior Group Finance Director experience in a PE-backed business and experience across scalable finance operations, multi-jurisdictional compliance, VAT/tax, transfer pricing, treasury and risk management. AI infrastructure enthusiasm is required; data centres, digital infrastructure, telecoms, energy, cloud or GPU/AI infrastructure exposure is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop group finance functions across FP&A, controllership, treasury and finance operations.
  • Support processes around acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers and oversee working capital management, including AR, AP and payroll.
  • Manage debt compliance in a project finance and SPV environment with a complex organisation structure.
  • Manage customer and supplier onboarding and shareholder requests.
  • Develop and review the annual budget, forecasting and scenario planning processes.
  • Facilitate monthly business reviews and measure business performance against targets.
  • Implement strategies to enhance profit margins through pricing, cost control and operational efficiencies.
  • Own monitoring of key customer and supplier contracts.
  • Collaborate across functions to identify margin improvement opportunities and align them with business objectives.
  • Document and improve finance processes, identifying manual workarounds, control gaps and automation opportunities.
  • Lead or support finance system improvements, reporting enhancements and implementation projects with external support where required.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess ROI and funnel conversion across customer segments.
  • Lead scenario modelling and commercial forecasting to support data-led decision-making.
  • Oversee group financial reporting, including timely consolidated management accounts, statutory reporting and regular audits.
  • Interface directly with the Senior Leadership Team and shareholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and use AI to build a world-class financial reporting and control function.
  • Develop and track key commercial KPIs and dashboards to drive accountability and performance.
  • Prepare board packs and present key insights to PE investors.
  • Lead treasury operations, liquidity management and cash forecasting.

What they require

  • Qualified accountant with previous experience as a group finance director in a PE-backed business, managing a broad range of activities across a finance function.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the build-out of scalable finance operations.
  • Experience working in multi-jurisdictional operating landscapes, including establishing presence in new jurisdictions.
  • Strong working VAT compliance and tax compliance knowledge with experience preparing, reviewing and filing VAT and annual tax returns.
  • Experience managing transfer pricing assessments and compliance.
  • Strong treasury, liquidity management and risk management expertise.
  • Strong conceptual and financial skills and ability to envision the big picture while being hands-on and maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with a demonstrated commitment to shared success above personal accomplishment or recognition.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High levels of ownership, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for the AI infrastructure ecosystem, analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Preferred: Experience in data centres, digital infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, power, utilities or cloud infrastructure.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with GPU infrastructure, AI infrastructure, hyperscaler ecosystems or energy markets.
  • Preferred: Exposure to power markets and commodity hedging.
