Job Description The Cloud Platform Engineer Lead Consultant is a full stack engineer who leads large technical cloud application development and hosting platforms for Allstate. This role has the primary accountability of building and managing Google Cloud resources while ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud environments.
As a Cloud Platform Lead Consultant, they provide strong technical, operational, security and communication skills, evaluate new products and services, troubleshoot issues, manage blockers, automate as much as possible, model paired programming and test-driven practices, along with drive continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Leads and builds Google Cloud infrastructure for business strategies and requirements
Helps Cloud Platform Expert influence strategy and execute engineering roadmaps around infrastructure as a service; executes strategic engineering proof of concepts around infrastructure platforms
Champions engineering practices and helps teams define and setup frameworks for infrastructure as code and automation
Troubleshoots availability and performance incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventative measures.
Co-leads postmortem activities to identify systemic solutions to improve the overall operations of the platform, and recommends and improves technology related policies and procedures
Experience and technical skills
3+ years of experience in Cloud
Experience with Google Cloud networking components (Cloud Interconnect, Cloud DNS, routing)
Experience with Google AI products, Agent Platform, Cloud Storage, IAM, Compute Engine
Experience in Terraform development Generative and Agentic AI
Programming Languages: Python
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform (including Tofu/Env0 tools)

Compensation Compensation offered for this role is 110,000.00 - 181,025.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
