What you'll do

  • Learn about the company, teams, and vision during the first onboarding week.
  • Complete tech onboarding to get familiar with the application, accounting concepts, code stack, and CI/CD.
  • Integrate into a squad and understand the squad scope, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Work with a tech buddy for daily technical support.
  • Start with good first issues to get familiar with the development environment, code structure, tools, and squad scope.
  • Become comfortable with the squad perimeter, people, and best practices within 3–6 months.
  • Build and ship features to production.
  • Bring value and new ideas to the squad.
  • Grow and develop skills as a software engineer.
  • Take ownership and gain responsibilities on features or projects owned by the squad.
  • Contribute to cross-team or transversal initiatives.
  • Participate in scaling the Pennylane application from 30k+ customers to millions of customers.

What they require

  • At least 4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Balanced blend of technical, business, and product skills.
  • Team player with experience working in an agile environment.
  • Comfortable being challenged and solving complex problems.
  • Empathy for users and desire to solve real issues for them.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Must be based in Europe within a maximum time difference of two hours from CET.
