What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and services on the AWS platform.
  • Design and implement backend services, APIs, and business logic using modern development practices.
  • Develop frontend components and adjustments for web applications, primarily using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Build and integrate serverless solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and Cognito.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using AWS CDK or similar technologies.
  • Configure and improve CI/CD pipelines, including automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorisation mechanisms using OAuth and AWS identity services.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, static code analysis, and contribute to quality assurance activities.
  • Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve application issues, including bug fixing and performance optimisation.
  • Support operational activities for cloud-based applications and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, including sprint planning, refinements, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, architecture documentation, and system documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and cloud architecture standards.

What they require

  • Professional experience developing customer-facing or enterprise cloud applications.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud application development and cloud-native architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including: AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Cognito
  • Strong backend development experience, including business logic implementation and API development.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) : AWS CDK experience is preferred. Strong Terraform experience combined with TypeScript is also considered relevant.
  • Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Knowledge of secure authentication and authorisation concepts, including OAuth.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and static code analysis.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising cloud-based applications.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments (Scrum, Jira, sprint planning, refinements, reviews).
  • Ability to create technical documentation and system specifications.
  • Experience working on enterprise-scale or globally used applications.
  • Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
