What you'll do

  • Answer and manage a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Schedule new and existing patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage patient recall lists.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
  • Obtain and track prior authorizations through insurance payer portals and other authorization platforms.
  • Prepare patients for telemedicine appointments by completing intake and screening questions, documenting relevant information for the provider.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
  • Coordinate with providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure timely patient care.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

What they require

  • Minimum of 2 years of medical front office experience, preferably in Podiatry, Dermatology, Orthopedics, or Sports Medicine.
  • Proven experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance payer portals and authorization processes.
  • Experience managing a high volume of patient phone calls.
  • Comfortable interviewing patients and collecting clinical intake information for telemedicine visits.
  • Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating patient follow-up care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a specialty medical practice.
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical office workflows.
  • Preferred: Comfortable learning new software and adapting to evolving processes.
