Entry-level HVAC technician (Level 1) responsible for delivering, installing, and servicing portable HVAC equipment. Requires basic math and mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift 25+ lbs and work in various weather conditions. A refrigeration card is required or in progress.

What you'll do

  • Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
  • Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train the authorized operator (and/or customer) on the safe use of the equipment.
  • Request customers to sign appropriate documents; track serial numbers.
  • Effectively troubleshoot issues related to the operation, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any rented equipment.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and adhere to all company safety policies.
  • Clean and test returned equipment, ensuring that its operation and appearance meet standards.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
  • Install flexible gas lines on propane and natural gas applications.
  • Implement appropriate and safe procedures for checking gas connections.
  • Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and track equipment in stock and rented.
  • Be available for emergency service and be available on a rotating schedule for emergency calls on weekends and evenings.
  • Maintain the shop in an organized, clean, and safe manner.
  • Learn to check, clean, and prepare equipment for rental to assist other technicians with major jobs.

What they require

  • Possess a refrigeration card (or be in the process of obtaining one)
  • 1 to 2 years of customer service experience is preferred
  • Possess basic math skills
  • Possess mechanical aptitude
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Be able to work after normal hours and weekends during peak periods
  • The candidate must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.
  • Some positions at Sunbelt may require driving for long periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing tasks in extreme weather conditions, including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures, and/or working at night and on weekends.
  • All tasks must be performed in accordance with Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines.
