What you'll do

  • Partner closely with the CEO to define product direction, technical priorities, and the long-term evolution of the platform.
  • Translate company objectives into a technology roadmap that balances innovation, scalability, and speed of execution.
  • Take ownership of a live product with active users and prepare it for growth.
  • Improve platform reliability, performance, security, and maintainability while accelerating the pace of feature delivery.
  • Lead the development of systems that transform health data into personalized insights and recommendations.
  • Drive the thoughtful application of AI to improve user experience, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Build and expand integrations across lab providers, wearable devices, medical records, and other health data sources.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and interoperability across the platform.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a small team of exceptional engineers.
  • Establish engineering practices, technical standards, and a culture focused on accountability, ownership, and velocity.
  • Remain actively involved in architecture, code reviews, technical problem solving, and key implementation decisions.
  • Establish and maintain security, privacy, and compliance standards appropriate for a healthcare platform, including HIPAA requirements and industry best practices.
  • Work directly alongside the CEO to shape product strategy, technology direction, and company growth.
  • Lead a small, highly capable engineering team with a mandate to move quickly, solve meaningful problems, and deliver results.

What they require

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of building and scaling products.
  • Strong experience across backend systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, security, and system architecture.
  • Experience building AI-enabled products and integrating modern LLM capabilities.
  • Experience leading engineers, technical teams, or engineering organizations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology, health data, interoperability standards, or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of privacy, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Startup experience and comfort operating in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, and modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, wearable integrations, lab systems, EHRs, or related ecosystems is strongly preferred.
  • Previous CTO, founding engineer, or technical co-founder experience.
  • Experience building consumer health or healthcare technology products.
  • Experience integrating wearable devices, lab systems, or healthcare data platforms.
  • Experience building conversational AI experiences.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or LOINC.
  • Someone who enjoys creating more than maintaining.
  • Someone who sees ambiguity as an opportunity rather than a problem.
