We are seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineering Manager to modernize and expand a supply chain portal used to manage hardware logistics and shipment tracking for clients. Responsibilities
- Assess the current portal architecture and identify bottlenecks, UX friction, and workflow optimization opportunities
- Lead stakeholder discovery sessions and align requirements across logistics, hardware supply chain, and operations groups
- Design technical solutions and define API specifications to support shipment tracking and logistics visibility
- Build and ship high-impact features using internal frameworks and UI platforms such as Jetski
- Break down business needs into PRDs, user stories, and technical tasks for distributed execution
- Coordinate development with an engineering team in India and keep delivery unblocked
- Review code and enforce shared ownership and development standards across regions
- Improve integrations that support order fulfillment milestones and hardware logistics tracking for clients
- Establish scalable development practices to support US-based expansion of the portal ecosystem
Requirements
- 7+ years of Java development experience on enterprise web applications
- 3+ years of systems architecture or technical product engineering experience
- Team leadership experience coordinating delivery with offshore teams in India
- Project planning skills to translate business needs into PRDs, user stories, and API specs
- Strong REST API knowledge for secure cross-platform integrations
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and integration patterns
- Excellent communication skills for client-facing discovery and requirements alignment
- English proficiency: B2 Upper-Intermediate
Nice to have
- Experience with Jetski
- Experience with Partner Connect or partner portal frameworks
- Background in supply chain systems, order management systems, or hardware logistics
- Full-stack experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
