No BS summary

Forward Deployed Engineer based in Europe for AI-assisted insurance/banking deployments. Needs technical depth to read code, reason about integrations, MCP and agent stacks, lead enterprise client workshops, and handle security/procurement in regulated finance or insurance environments. Must be willing to travel across Europe and the US.

Core skills

MCP

What you'll do

  • Run technical discovery and workshops with each client.
  • Translate client needs into clear, buildable product requirements for sales, ops, and engineering teams.
  • Flag what needs to be built to support a given setup, such as client self-hosting.
  • Design the end-to-end MCP flow and integration architecture for each client, including hosted versus on-premise scenarios.
  • Produce the technical documentation enterprise clients require.
  • Use the existing compliance library, including SOC 2 program, DPAs, and prior questionnaire answers, to complete security questionnaires.
  • Handle security committees and data-residency questions.
  • Drive procurement to completion.
  • Oversee the MCP deployment implemented by the freelancer network.
  • Build reusable scoping templates, architecture patterns, and a procurement answer library.
  • Own scoping and procurement response for active deals within 90 days, with the reusable kit used on at least one live deal end to end.
  • Run the full signed-to-live pipeline within 6 months, including architecture decisions and procurement ownership, without founders in the critical path.
  • Create a repeatable delivery process within 12 months with patterns reused across clients and a case for the first hire under this role.

What they require

  • Technically credible: able to read code, reason fluently about integrations and the MCP and agent stack, and scope and oversee a deployment.
  • Comfortable leading technical conversations with enterprise clients.
  • Able to drive a security questionnaire or procurement process to completion from existing documentation.
  • Worked in or near regulated industries such as finance or insurance and understands compliance and data residency requirements.
  • Works well in ambiguity across sales, ops, and engineering, and ramps into new domains quickly.
  • Has an interest in the MCP and agent stack.
  • Open to traveling from time to time across Europe and the US to meet clients.
  • This is not a hands-on production-coding role; implementation is handled by the freelancer network.
  • Needs real technical depth, even though not writing production code day to day.
  • Being able to come to Paris occasionally is a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Remote-first role.
  • First hire in this function, working directly with the founders and the engineering team.
