What you'll do

  • Take ownership of the most challenging technical escalations.
  • Provide definitive troubleshooting strategies and engineering solutions that balance immediate resolution with long-term fleet health.
  • Evaluate turbine subsystem interactions from a holistic perspective.
  • Provide technical guidance on design modifications or operational changes that impact fleet-wide performance and reliability.
  • Lead complex RCAs for systemic fleet issues.
  • Develop and validate hypotheses using data, modeling, and physical evidence; present findings and mitigation strategies to senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Define and refine the technical standards for troubleshooting and case resolution.
  • Author technical bulletins, playbooks, and best-practice guides to elevate the technical capabilities of the broader engineering organization.
  • Analyze fleet performance data to forecast reliability trends.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks before they manifest as fleet-wide outages or performance degradation.
  • Serve as the lead technical point of contact for Product Engineering and R&D teams, ensuring that field performance insights directly inform future turbine design and service offerings.
  • Act as a formal mentor for junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Conduct technical peer reviews, foster a culture of rigorous problem-solving, and share specialized knowledge to build a high-performing technical team.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred.
  • Solid and strong experience in Gear Boxes mechanical engineering, fleet performance, or advanced services engineering.
  • Deep expertise in turbine thermodynamics, rotor dynamics, or thermal-mechanical fatigue and how these factors impact long-term fleet operation.
  • Demonstrated mastery in conducting formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and applying reliability engineering principles.
  • Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders without direct management authority.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data into executive-level recommendations and customer-facing communications.
  • Preferred: Significant experience with wind turbine fleet performance monitoring tools and big-data analytics.
  • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes as they relate to turbine life cycle.
  • Preferred: Experience representing the company as a technical lead in customer-facing resolution meetings for high-impact fleet events.
  • Preferred: Published internal/external technical papers or patents related to turbine reliability or mechanical performance.
  • Continuos improvement mind-set and team work spirit.
  • Capacity to climb to nacelle wind turbines
  • Able to travel >15% time
