Senior fire protection designer with 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design. Must have deep knowledge of HydraCAD, Hydraulic calculations, NFPA codes, and 2D/3D design software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit). This is a remote role.

What you'll do

  • Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and layout drawings using HydraCAD Software
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Review architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure proper system coordination.
  • Prepare submittals, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to ensure design intent and code compliance are achieved.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Stay current with updates to fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, etc.).
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).

What they require

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler or fire protection design.
  • In depth knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, and other related standards.
  • Strong understanding of building and fire codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects.
  • Preferred: NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).
