Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire sprinkler system design, code compliance, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and coordination with clients, engineers, and field personnel. This position requires a high degree of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept through completion. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and layout drawings using HydraCAD Software Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. Review architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure proper system coordination. Prepare submittals, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to ensure design intent and code compliance are achieved. Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance as needed. Stay current with updates to fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, etc.). Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction). Qualifications Minimum 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler or fire protection design. Proficiency in AutoCAD , HydraCAD , Navisworks , and/or Revit . In-depth knowledge of NFPA, FM Global, and other related standards. NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred). Strong understanding of building and fire codes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects. What you'll do
