What you'll do

  • Lead Ferguson's enterprise FinOps strategy, governance, and roadmap.
  • Drive financial accountability and cost optimization across technology teams.
  • Develop cloud financial plans, forecasts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and optimize cloud spend across Azure, AWS, OCI, SaaS, and platform services.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and variance analysis processes.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, including rightsizing, savings plans, storage, SaaS licensing, and data platform optimization.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams to embed FinOps guidelines.
  • Establish metrics, financial controls, tagging standards, and cost allocation models.
  • Deliver executive dashboards, reporting, forecasts, and optimization recommendations.
  • Support governance reviews, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage strategic relationships with cloud vendors and FinOps service providers.
  • Support cloud contract negotiations, consumption commitments, and licensing strategies.
  • Lead and mentor FinOps team members and establish scalable processes.
  • Build partnerships across Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Applications, Architecture, Security, Finance, and Procurement teams.
  • Occasional travel to Ferguson headquarters in Newport News, VA, and other company locations including Tampa, FL.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, cloud operations, IT finance, technology portfolio management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional programs, teams, or critical initiatives.
  • Experience managing and optimizing cloud spend across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, financial modeling, and chargeback/showback methodologies.
  • Experience with reservations, savings plans, rightsizing, and resource utilization management.
  • Knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud governance frameworks, financial controls, and cost accountability practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to present recommendations and financial performance to senior leadership.
