Our finance function runs on Microsoft Dynamics and Anaplan, and increasingly on Claude — and we've reached the point where making that stack genuinely intelligent needs someone who thinks like an engineer first — someone who sees technology, automation and intelligent systems as core to how the finance function should operate.

Why now. We've grown from 5 million customers to 7 million, with 10 million next in view. That growth doesn't need more traditional finance transformation — it needs someone who looks at reconciliation, reporting, and planning the way a technologist looks at any inefficient system: as something to be automated, restructured, or rebuilt. 86% of our customers report improved quality of life, and 70% use our products to generate income — the infrastructure behind those numbers needs someone who brings a fundamentally technical lens to how finance processes are designed, improved and scaled.

What makes this different. Most "finance transformation" hires are finance people with a technology interest. We're doing the opposite: hiring a technical builder and giving them finance as the domain to apply it to. You don't need to know what a trial balance is on day one — you need to be genuinely curious enough to learn it fast, and technically strong enough that learning it is the easy part. What we can't teach is the instinct to look at a manual process and immediately see three ways to automate it. That instinct is the job.

Who we're looking for.

• A Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or comparable technical background — or demonstrable equivalent capability if your path here was less conventional. This is the primary profile for the role, not a nice-to-have alongside finance experience.
• Demonstrable, hands-on experience using Claude to solve real problems and create measurable value — whether through automating processes, building tools and agents, analysing information, or driving genuine productivity gains. You should be comfortable demonstrating how you've used Claude in practice and what you've built or improved as a result.
• Strong learning agility, problem-solving instinct, and genuine curiosity about finance — no prior finance experience required or expected. What we need is someone who can pick up the domain quickly while bringing technical strength that complements and extends the existing team's capabilities.

What the work looks like. You'll sit inside the finance team with a different lens — you'll notice opportunities that can be harder to see when you've worked within the same processes for years. Some weeks that means digging into why Dynamics and Anaplan disagree on a number and fixing the integration, not just flagging it. Other weeks it means building a Claude-powered agent that turns a two-day reconciliation into two hours, then teaching the finance team when to trust it and when not to. You'll own data integrity across the finance stack, support audit processes with properly structured data, and act as the bridge between finance and engineering — trusted by both because you bring deep fluency in systems and technology, alongside the curiosity and learning agility to quickly build fluency in finance.

Reality check. This role may mean being the person with a very different technical background in a room full of finance professionals — and using that difference as an advantage, not a disadvantage. It also means real ambiguity: no existing playbook, systems that are live while you're improving them, and a finance team that will need convincing before they trust an automated process over a manual one they know works. If that sounds uncomfortable, this probably isn't for you. If it sounds like the kind of problem a strong technologist actually enjoys, you're probably exactly who we're looking for.
