To support our customer base in South England, we are looking for a driven and hands-on Field Service Engineer based to join our team.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation—working hands-on with manufacture sensor-based sorting technologies and making a real difference every day. Your Profile Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (ONC/HNC or equivalent preferred) Strong problem-solving mindset with good technical understanding (mechanical, electrical and software) Comfortable working with software, systems, and diagnostics tools Customer-focused with excellent communication skills Valid UK driving license Experience in recycling or industrial processing is a plus Ideally, you are located within a 60-mile radius of London to ensure efficient regional coverage

What you'll do
- Installing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of sensor-based sorters in TOMRA’s Recycling install base
- Delivering exceptional customer experiences through top class communication and support using various mediums
- Optimizing of the sorting systems / process
- Identifying opportunities to add value to our customers businesses through the introduction of complementary TOMRA products, solutions and services
- Act as a conduit between our customer base and HQ by providing in market feedback so that we continuously look for opportunities to further delight our customers
- Install, maintain, and repair TOMRA Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) at customer sites.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and roll-out of new machines across the UK.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues; carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Build strong relationships with customers and site contacts; provide professional and friendly service.
- Travel throughout the region to support customers, with occasional overnight stays when required.
- Accurately record service activities, machine status, and updates using digital systems and tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and developing technical knowledge.
- Follow established safety procedures, including TOMRA Safe and LOTO standards.
