Field service engineer needed for the Greater Chicago, IL to Milwaukee, WI area. Requires a technical degree or equivalent military/trade school training, and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems. Must be able to read technical information, blueprints, and schematics. Strong autonomy, organizational, time management, and customer service skills are essential. Prior field service experience is strongly preferred.

What you'll do

  • Traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation, on a wide range of Instron’s products.
  • Regional responsibility for customers located within Wisconsin and Illinois.
  • Occasional travel to other locations in the US may be required, as much as up to about 40% overnight travel.

What they require

  • Two or four-year technical degree from an accredited university or equivalent military / trade school training.
  • Knowledge of electro–mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret basic technical information involving mechanics and electronics associated with materials testing systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Understand electrical, mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Familiar with PC’s including operating systems and Windows applications.
  • High level of autonomy.
  • Superior organizational, time management and customer service skills.
