What you'll do

  • Lead and support execution of Global Medical Affairs excellence and strategy initiatives across multiple clients and engagements.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, structured programs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive enterprise-level and cross-functional initiatives with project management rigor and accountability for results.
  • Contribute to evolution of innovative and scalable Medical Affairs operating models.
  • Drive operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability across Medical Affairs programs and delivery models.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to modernize workflows, tools, and processes, including digital and data-driven enhancements.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure consistent, high-quality execution and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Working Instructions, and Training.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to clients, including Global Medical Affairs leadership.
  • Act as Overseeing Director and/or Client Manager for assigned projects.
  • Deliver strategic and operational guidance across the full spectrum of Medical Affairs functions to ensure client delight and value-/quality-driven services.
  • Partner with internal EVERSANA business units (Medical Information, Value & Evidence, Medical Communications, Agency, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Quality, Field Medical, Patient Services) to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to holistic commercialization and medical strategies spanning the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute thought leadership strategy for Global Medical Affairs and represent EVERSANA at professional meetings and associations.
  • Support business development through RFPs, proposals, and client presentations; develop Medical Affairs capabilities presentations and technology demos.
  • Ensure timely review and execution of Global Medical Affairs SOWs and contracts, including renewals follow-up.
  • Own P&L for Medical Affairs services and contribute to monthly and quarterly financial planning.
  • Establish, lead, and develop a growing Global Medical Affairs team across various services, including onboarding processes for FTEs and contractors.
  • Build an operationally and cost-efficient global staffing model and manage relationships with staffing agencies and independent consultants.
  • Identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions and requisitions; manage hiring, performance, promotions, and development planning.
  • Mentor and develop talent, provide coaching, set performance expectations, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Travel up to 20% as required.

What they require

  • Education: PharmD, MD, or PhD required.
  • 8–12+ years of pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience, including significant experience within biopharmaceutical organizations or applicable service providers.
  • Strong and diverse experience across multiple Medical Affairs functions including Medical Strategy & Planning, Medical Communications/Publications, Medical Information, Medical Affairs Operations, Advisory Boards, IIS, and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives and driving operational excellence and transformation.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities with ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead people, influence stakeholders, and deliver results through cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strategic and structured thinker who connects vision to execution.
  • Operational excellence driver focused on scalability, efficiency, and quality with accountability for measurable impact.
  • People leadership experience: hiring, performance management, promotions, development planning, and mentoring.
  • Experience with Medical Affairs technologies, including Medical Information platforms, content and publication management systems, MSL tools and CRM platforms, digital engagement and analytics tools.
  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies (including AI) to modernize Medical Affairs delivery and enhance impact.
  • Ability to develop and own capabilities presentations and technology offerings/demos, and to support RFPs and client proposals.
  • Preferred: Consulting or multi-client experience.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting U.S. and/or global product launches.
  • Preferred: Exposure to multiple therapeutic areas and organization types (including emerging biopharma).
