Area Manager focused on Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation based in California. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience (or equivalent); US citizenship or permanent residency is required and sponsorship will not be offered. Candidate will oversee program/project delivery, manage ~50 staff, and be involved in billable work.

What you'll do

  • Drive program and project delivery to meet or exceed client satisfaction and KPIs, including project reviews and adoption of digital tools.
  • Manage people responsibilities for approximately 50 department staff, including performance evaluation, coaching, succession planning and mentoring.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key contacts across multinational chemical company client organizations and serve as focal point for major issue resolution.
  • Lead business development activities: collaborate with account managers and leaders to grow profitable backlog, develop budgets, and lead capture strategies.
  • Oversee operations and compliance: act as escalation point, ensure project management practices align with AECOM Project Delivery System (PDS) and QMS, and maintain Salesforce pipeline accuracy.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must pass a background check and a motor vehicle records check.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency is required; sponsorship will not be offered.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree; 15 years related experience; California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge and track record in the environmental / remediation business inclusive of risk-based strategic asset management and advocacy in multiple state jurisdictions working for an Environmental Consultant.
