What you'll do

  • Acts as a point of escalation for project issues and recommends improvements to project performance, resourcing, technical issues, invoicing and vendor/subconsultant concerns.
  • Drive financial and operational performance: monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting (Pro Forma, Path to Plan, Annual Plan); monitor cash flow (Unbilled, Billed AR, DSO).
  • Drive program/project delivery to meet or exceed client satisfaction and KPIs; participate in governance, risk identification, project reviews and adoption of digital/enterprise capabilities.
  • Share people management responsibilities for ~125 department staff: build relationships, succession planning, training/mentoring, coach project managers and evaluate performance.
  • Lead business development activities: collaborate with Client Account Managers and leadership to grow backlog, develop budgets, and lead capture strategies for key pursuits.
  • Drive program and project performance to meet or exceed client satisfaction and internal KPIs, including governance, risk management, and project reviews.
  • Develop and formulate solutions to client problems and integrate digital/enterprise capabilities into project delivery.
  • Act as people manager for ~50 department staff: coach project managers, implement succession planning, and ensure training/mentoring.
  • Collaborate with Client Account Managers and Practice Area Leaders to grow profitable backlog and lead capture strategies for key pursuits.
  • Serve as escalation point for project issues; ensure consistent project management practices, compliance with PDS/QMS, and accuracy of Salesforce and Workload Planning outputs.
  • Drive program performance to meet and/or exceed client satisfaction and KPIs; develop and formulate solutions to client problems/issues.
  • Actively share people management responsibilities for approximately 50 department staff; develop succession plans and coach project managers.
  • Lead capture strategies and work with Client Account Managers and Practice Area Leaders to grow profitable backlog and financial success.
  • Act as point of escalation for project issues (resourcing gaps, technical issues, invoicing/cash collection, subconsultant/vendor concerns) and drive consistent project management practices in alignment with PDS and QMS.
  • Drive faster adoption of digital tools and integrate international Enterprise Capabilities into project delivery; ensure accuracy of Salesforce pipeline and Workload Planning Tool data.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Sponsorship will not be available at this time or in the future.
  • This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening and Background check.
  • Preferred: 15+ years related experience including 8+ years operations management, Profit & Loss, and staff management.
  • Strong knowledge and track record in the environmental/remediation business inclusive of risk-based strategic asset management and advocacy in multiple state jurisdictions working for an Environmental Consultant.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency is required; sponsorship at this time or in the future will not be offered for this role.
  • Successful candidates will have to pass a background check and a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree and 15 years related experience.
