What you'll do

  • Work closely with business and all IT teams, approve, and reconcile strategic architecture goals with the current state implementations.
  • Drive architectural excellence across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem by defining and governing directives, principles, guidelines, and best practices for the organization to follow.
  • Recommend iterative paths towards the adoption of strategic architecture goals.
  • Lead change for cloud and automation adoption.
  • Development and coordination of cloud architecture with business, application, and engineering teams.
  • Developing a cloud strategy and coordinating the adaptation processes.
  • Assessing applications, software and hardware.
  • Establishing best practices for cloud across the company.
  • Selecting cloud providers and vetting third-party services.
  • Help develop Cloud Center of Excellence.
  • Develop FinOps processes.
  • Ability to think and operate at scale.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on experience across the Microsoft and Azure stack, setting architectural direction for the domain.
  • Design Entra ID (Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC),
  • Design hybrid identity and Microsoft 365 service architectures.
  • Serve as design authority for owned domains - designs are adopted as the standard, not just proposed.
  • Produce design documents, reference architectures, and ADRs that guide delivery and operations.
  • Partner with engineering and operations to ensure designs are implementable, supportable, and resilient.
  • Mentor and grow Enterprise Architects and engineers, strengthening architectural discipline and team capability

What they require

  • 5+ years architecting Azure cloud and enterprise infrastructure, with hands-on Azure depth
  • Azure: landing zones, virtual networks, compute, storage, Key Vault, private endpoints, Azure Policy (as a design construct)
  • Identity & Security: Entra ID (Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC), Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview
  • Microsoft 365 services and tenant-level architecture
  • Deployment methods: infrastructure-as-code patterns (Bicep and Terraform) and CI/CD strategy (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Monitoring and observability by design: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights
  • Integration architecture (Epic APIs, ServiceNow, iPaaS)
  • Proven ability to design deployment models and define IaC and CI/CD patterns for delivery teams to implement
  • Track record of embedding governance; security, compliance, cost - into solution designs
