What you'll do

  • Lead and develop your team
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and provide continuous feedback and guidance
  • Support the professional and personal development of your team members
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement
  • Help your team set clear goals and create an environment where people can do their best work
  • Take responsibility for team health, motivation, and performance
  • Work closely with your team to make sound technical and architectural decisions
  • Act as a technical sparring partner for engineers and help navigate complex technical challenges
  • Ensure high standards for software quality, reliability, maintainability, and observability
  • Stay close to the technology and understand the systems your team is building
  • Contribute to technical discussions and architecture without needing to be the team's primary developer
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, other Engineering Leads, and stakeholders
  • Help translate product goals into clear technical priorities for your team
  • Balance technical excellence with business and customer needs
  • Help your team plan and deliver meaningful improvements and new features
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering organization and ways of working

What they require

  • Several years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Practical people experience leading and developing software engineers, including regular 1:1s, feedback, coaching, and supporting individual development
  • A strong technical foundation and the ability to engage confidently in technical and architectural discussions
  • Experience taking ownership and making decisions in complex or ambiguous situations
  • A collaborative and coaching-oriented leadership style
  • The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A pragmatic mindset and a strong sense of ownership
  • A genuine interest in building products that have a real-world impact
