What you'll do

  • Lead a team building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and lead the team by example
  • Contribute code directly when needed
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Advocate modern agile software development practices
  • Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
  • Maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
  • Collaborate with other leaders in the organization
  • Work from home with global travel for internal events

  • Software engineering background, preferably with Python and Golang experience
  • Experience running systems in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL

  • Practical experience installing, configuring and operating data platform technologies like Spark, Superset, MySQL, and similar
  • Practical experience deploying, configuring, debugging and consuming Kubernetes
  • Practical experience designing, implementing, and maintaining software written in Python
  • Willing and able to meet in person 2-4 times a year at internal company events lasting 1-2 weeks
