  • Maintain a strong technical pulse across teams, reviewing architectural decisions, code quality standards, and technical debt management while escalating strategic technical decisions to the VP of Engineering.
  • Champion engineering excellence by establishing and evolving standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and architectural patterns.
  • Create feedback loops that help teams learn from incidents and improve continuously.
  • Partner with product, design, and other departments to ensure engineering priorities align with business needs and communicate progress transparently.
  • Establish and track meaningful engineering metrics (cycle time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, etc.) that illuminate how we're performing and where we can improve.
  • Use data to identify trends, validate improvement initiatives, and make the case for changes.

What they require

  • 5+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in engineering management, preferably managing multiple teams or a significant engineering function.

  • Proven track record of establishing and improving development processes, managing delivery across teams, and creating systems that scale as organizations grow.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing teams, with strong coaching and mentoring skills and a genuine investment in helping engineers grow their careers.
