What you'll do

  • Provide Independent Engineering advisory support for technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities for DOE/LPO-style financing.
  • Deliver bankable, technically defensible IE advisory outputs by converting engineering, construction, compliance, operating, commercial, and risk findings into lender-ready due diligence, monitoring, certification, and decision-support deliverables.
  • Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks and mitigations, and validate assumptions.
  • Support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews where applicable; prepare program plans, integrated master schedules, resource plans, status reports, and governance materials.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to support timely lender and DOE decision-making.
  • Coordinate IE support across due diligence, construction monitoring, operations monitoring, and reporting activities; participate in data room reviews and site observations as needed.

What they require

  • 15+ years of progressive energy infrastructure, engineering advisory, project finance, program management, or independent engineering experience.
  • 5+ years leading multidisciplinary teams, client delivery, and senior stakeholder engagement for federal, lender, or owner-side programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, finance, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • PE, PMP, PgMP, or equivalent senior delivery credential preferred.
  • Experience with technical due diligence, independent engineering review, risk assessment, construction monitoring, operations monitoring, and lender-style reporting.
  • Familiarity with DOE Loan Programs Office (LPO)-style documentation and requirements and with high-impact energy infrastructure projects (oil & gas, power, utilities, transmission, storage).
  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, ability to produce defensible documentation, and client service orientation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and business tools; advanced Excel skills and ability to perform Excel-based analysis.
  • May participate in borrower/contractor interviews, monthly monitoring meetings, risk register updates, CP evidence reviews, draw package checks, and preparation of Independent Engineer reports.
  • Security clearance is a valuable asset given federal engagements (posting notes security clearance necessary for engagement teams managing sensitive federal work).
