Director-level role leading Pinterest's retail transformation: build and lead the operating model for strategic retail partnerships, shape Retail Media strategy, and drive multi-year initiatives. Requires 10+ years in partnerships/strategy/BD, experience with platform-level partnerships, and demonstrated AI use in workflows. US-based, remote with occasional in-office.

What you'll do

  • Build and lead the centralized operating model for Pinterest’s most strategic retail partnerships, including prioritization, partner plans, decision forums and executive reporting
  • Develop clear strategy POVs across Pinterest’s priority retail growth areas, using market, partner and internal inputs to shape direction, inform investment decisions and align cross-functional stakeholders
  • Shape horizontal Retail Media strategy and point of view, and drive in-market execution across first-party media, measurement and data partnerships in close collaboration with sales teams
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define the strategy and future roadmap for non-standard retail media and commerce solutions, including new partnership models, custom programs and emerging product capabilities
  • Build Pinterest’s Future of Retail partner program and focus list, then drive integrated partnership plans across agentic commerce integrations, Taste Graph commercialization, creator programs and IRL experiences
  • Own end-to-end partnership management for some of our largest commerce platform partners, aligning cross-functional teams to joint OKRs that grow GMV and active merchants on Pinterest
  • Use AI to accelerate planning and iteration on partner strategies, bundles and narratives while applying strong judgment and validation to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Use AI to synthesize inputs from partners and internal teams into clear briefs, decision points and status updates, then validate recommendations with stakeholders before execution

What they require

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in partnerships, strategy, business development, monetization or related roles with ownership of complex cross-functional programs
  • Experience leading end-to-end initiatives across highly matrixed organizations, from strategy and alignment through execution and delivery
  • Experience leading platform-level partnerships that combine commercial terms with product or technical delivery
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering to develop new, non-standard or emerging ads, commerce or partnership solutions
  • Experience in retail media, commerce partnerships or retailer/CPG commercialization motions involving multiple stakeholders and longer time horizons
  • Strong track record of building operating rhythms that create clarity and accountability across matrixed organizations, including prioritization, goals, reviews and escalation paths
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows for analysis, planning and communication, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality
  • Strong track record of evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation or peer review
  • High integrity and ownership; you protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience
